Tune of the Week
As a design-oriented DP, I aim to get the final look as close as possible on set. Of course, that’s not always the case, sometimes I just need something beyond what the manufacturer’s REC 709 LUT provides, or a solid reference for a colorist who’s worlds better than me at grading.
This pack includes 10 LUTs and PowerGrades, plus my personal 709 replacement that I load up on most jobs. I mainly work with Arri cameras, and I’ve always found their default 709 a bit green. My version balances a few things out. It’s a workhorse for me. I hope it works the same for you.
The clips below were shot on an Alexa Mini at Panavision Woodland Hills and shot with my favorite lenses: Primo's, Ultra Speeds, and the E-Series Anamorphics. The video files are 422 ProRes Exports.
